In August 2012 we reported that a pair of Leafield Night Owl bollards had been “nudged, whacked or run over virtually every day for over 12 months” (according to Gateshead Council) and remained in good shape despite this harsh treatment.
As this Google Street View image shows, the Night Owls survived at least a further two and a half years and were still fully functional and fit for purpose in April 2015.
Does anyone have any further information on what we claimed were “Britain’s Toughest Bollards”?
